The Galaxy S9 will be hitting stores in early 2018. Whilst we can’t be sure what Samsung will have planned for us, we wouldn’t be surprised if they have some new unique features ready to show off to the world.
In 2018 manufacturers will need to put a focus on a new area of hardware – in the past it has been all about megapixels, display resolution and processor power. The 2018 smartphone race may be no different. However, instead of a marketing focus on any of these prior hardware features, we may get a special treat in departments that have previously been neglected by hardware manufacturers.
The big one is audio – with Apple now supporting lightning cable audio equipment and high quality music streaming, Samsung may start to offer higher a quality built in DAC on their Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Edge. This will mean audio quality will be richer and studio headphones can be louder without any external equipment.
Unique Features of Samsung Galaxy S9 Edge
The Samsung Galaxy S9 is bound to have plenty of special software features too. When it comes to Android software, Samsung has always been the king. In 2018, we expect Samsung to announce a wide range of new software changes, including new Edge features and features that may go hand in hand with the range of improvements made to the Android operating system with the Android 9.0 P update.
The Edge display may get an upgrade on the Galaxy S9 so it’s possible that the device will have more room for large Edge feeds, which is a feature that Samsung may completely reinvent, along with other Edge functionality.
Iris scanners, fingerprint sensors and extra security features will make it easier for Galaxy S9 users to keep their device safe this will be incredibly important for the revamped Samsung Pay app which is bound to make its way onto the Galaxy S9.
At the time of writing, all of this information is based on speculation from an industry expert. Keep an eye out for any potential Galaxy S9 leaks and rumors for more information.
