The Samsung Galaxy S9 Edge will cost more than the standard Galaxy S9, so hoping for exclusive Edge features is understandable. Fortunately, there will definitely be a number of features exclusive to the Galaxy S9 Edge and we’ll be discussing them in this article.
The first of which are the Edge Feeds – whilst support may come to the Galaxy S9 for Edge Feeds, the true Edge experience will only be on the Galaxy S9 Edge. With Edge Feeds, users will be able to see important information at a glance. Information like time, date, missed texts and calls will be visible from a distance on the side of the display.
We imagine the Galaxy Feeds feature will get a significant improvement in 2018 – more Feeds will be available and more information will be visible at a glance.
The Galaxy S9 Edge will also have a number of exclusive Edge features on top of the Feeds. The Edge Panel will be accessible by swiping the Edge display – by doing this, users will be able to access a plethora of information, quickly access favorite apps or view notifications. Support for custom third party panels should grow in 2018 so we should see the Google Play Store flooded with unique custom Galaxy S9 Edge feeds as well.
Samsung may release a branch of new Galaxy Edge software features as well. Their current Edge lineup has started to evolve from a neat concept idea to a utility feature that actually provides a lot of functionality. However, there’s still a lot of room for improvement and we’re bound to see some newfound creativity from Samsung once the Galaxy S9 Edge releases in 2018.
As soon as we know more about the exclusive features coming to the Galaxy S9 Edge we shall let you know.
