Like every Galaxy handset before it, the Galaxy S9 will be running Android but it will feature a wide range of visual and utility based changes. The custom Android software on the Galaxy S9 is called TouchWiz UX and over the years it has evolved into a powerhouse with a wide range of custom features and special traits. We expect to see TouchWiz make a return on the Galaxy S9 and it is bound to be filled with new tweaks and changes.
Whilst TouchWiz has always been filled to the brim with features, it has often lacked clarity and simplicity in the past. Over the years the TouchWiz UX has gone from being a cluttered mess to a neat, streamlined experience. We expect that the Galaxy S9 TouchWiz experience will be the smoothest yet. Most users will happily make use of the simple interface on the Galaxy S9 that will be inspired by the Android 7.0 Nougat and Android 8.0 interfaces.
Bright colors and simple icons will help users to navigate the Galaxy S9 interface quickly. But under the settings app will be dozens upon dozens of options for customization, performance control and overall personalization.
Android Version of Samsung Galaxy S9
The Samsung Galaxy S9 will definitely have a range of Samsung apps including Samsung Pay, Samsung Health, and the Samsung app store, but we’ll also see a larger focus on the Edge display. With Android 7.0 Nougat having a handy Google Now assistant ready at the tap of a button, the Edge display may be transformed into that helpful virtual assistant that’s always on standby for all of your needs.
The settings menu should have plenty of options for reducing battery consumption, changing display calibration, editing the sound profiles and everything in between. The TouchWiz UX on the Galaxy S9 will be a rooted user’s dream.
What’s even better is that thanks to the increased hardware on the Galaxy S9, the TouchWiz UX and Android software will run effortlessly. In the past, TouchWiz has always had issues with performance but there’s no reason to think that the Galaxy S9 won’t perform smoothly.
